won't run w/ est unhooked
i'am trying to base time this car right. but it won't run with est wire unhooked.any ideas ?

Not unusual. Opening the BYPASS connector pulls 15 to 20 degrees of advance.
Get the engine up to temperature first, then shut off the engine and open the connector. Start it up and it should now idle. If it has trouble give it a little throttle to keep it going. Once the IAC opens enough it should stay running.
