TBI rebuild
I just read this in a year old post by beatercoprice:
"I rebuilt my TBI no problem, easier than a carb. Made a HUGE differance in pedal feel. "
Ever since I bought my car it has felt like there was a sticking point when I push the gas pedal. When I first apply pressure to the pedal it is like the is a slight detent that takes extra pressure to get through. This of course causes me to push harder than I need to and makes for slightly jerky starts. I always assumed it was in the pedal linkage.
Could this be something in the TBI, like the throttle plates sticking? Has any body else experienced this and did a TBI rebuild help?

Re: TBI rebuild
I dont know what is causing it yet (haven't done a rebuild) but i have the exact same thing on my 305 TBI. Im sure its something in the TBI unit iteself but not sure what yet.
Also, I have noticed while driving if i ease off the pedal letting it up the next time I push it is smooth as should be. If I let it up real fast (jump from gas pedal to brake) then I feel the catch like something closes too hard and is catching somewhere.

Re: TBI rebuild
Search on here, their are 2 or 3 different rebuild kits, all around 50$ I think. I havent needed one yet, but if youve done a full tune up and still arent happy, definitely try the throttle body rebuild

Re: TBI rebuild
more than likely 1 of two things.
Take a tooth brush and carb cleaner and hold the throttle wide open, and clean the bore and edges of the blades, if they get dirty and coked up they will stick. Usually doesnt happen much on a wet throttle body...
Or take out the brass freeze plug and adjust the idle screw a hair more open and that should fix it.
BE SURE that you use the idle adjustment method in the tech articles when you do that, you dont want to just crank on that screw and call it good.
