Emissions??
I have a 89' 305 v8 TBI Camaro, the last owner of the car told me that the car didnt pass emissions because it was giving off to much oxygen...he told me that in order to pass i just needed to install new converters...does anybody know if this is true or not, or what the problem could be???

Re: Emissions??
you must be near ATL
i would go to one of the emission check places that do it for a charge (i seen the everywhere when im up there) have them check it and tell you how bad it is, get the results and post them up....more than likely a new cat will fix the problem, or maybe your air pump into the exhaust aint working as well as it should, but thats what i would do get it checked out and see where you stand, and go from there, no use in throwing parts at something when you are no 100% sure what the test results are

Re: Emissions??
does it do it when you are low on gas, you could be slinging all the gas away from the pickup

Timing has a huge impact on emissions. If have too much advance you will fail on NOx, and maybe HC.Before you spend money on new converters, try this:
Assuming you have a timing light, check for the factory base timing on the sticker under your hood, disconnect the timing connector and adjust the distributor to get it right.
