I'm not 100% on this, but I did this swap in my '91 truck, and it worked just fine. You need a 350 chip for the computer, but can keep the same computer and you also should upgrade the injectors. The 350 injectors flow more fuel to feed the larger engine. Everything else should be the same, as far as I know.

you correct you will need to swap all that out the computer will not feed enough feul for the motor it for the 305 and the injectors on the tbi are for a 305 not the 350 and yes the knock sensor and esc go to the junkyard look for a caprice with the the cop package and all you need will be there as for you harness and pulley everything like that will bolt right back on

Hmmm...maybe THAT's why the motor never ran quite right...I didn't change those other two items.

Injectors? Maybe not if your fuel pump can handle a higher fuel pressure. I would try the old injs and upgrage to a TPI pump and add a FPR.

ESC probably.

Chip needs to be for your tranny.

Cop car chip would be OK for auto trans.

Re: 305 to 350 Questions

I believe the 305 to 350 tbi swap sticky will answer all of these questions. I just looked at it. Turns out that the truck esc is the same in 305 and 350 applications, but not in car applications. The knock sensor, however, is not.

Re: 305 to 350 Questions

The harmonics of the knock sensor must be sufficently different 350 vs 305 to require a diif part #. the KC on my two stroke 700cc is very sensitive. In fact during break in went off frequently(KC light) after break in was a non issue. Perfectly matched to engine now.
