Re: throwing codes 42 and 43

est(electronic spark timing) is probably gettin false signals from the knock sensor if its bad. or your knock sensor is probably unplugged.

on the side of the engine block, right above the starter. its a one wire connector. those connectors are known for falling off or breaking easily when working around it.

no, pretty cheap. if its the connector, you could get one off a junk yard one, or rig it to stay on. if the knock sensor is bad, just get one at a parts store (idk how much, should be cheap).

Re: throwing codes 42 and 43

as in plugging it back in?, imediatly. well, actually when it warms up at around the time when the esc should retard it. and if your codes dont come back after cleared.

Re: throwing codes 42 and 43

Just wanted to say, i got the 42 code. What fixed mine was replacing the distributor. 100bucks but well worth it. Car runs 100% better. Corrosion was on the sensors when i took the cap off. I guess it got a little wet somehow.
