Can someone with my 94 Dakota?

I went to start my truck this morning and it would turn over, but wouldnt fire. so i took off the distributer to clean the rotor, and realized the cap had a crack in it. when i put it back on, a peice of the cap fell off. But im not sure if a crack would make it not turn over.

need a little aproval before i buy a new cap and rotor.

PS i know this site is for thirdgens, but i thought someone could help

Re: Can someone with my 94 Dakota?

the cap being cracked won't make it not crank over it may not start or if it does it may run funny , I hope this helps you out a little.

A motor turning over has nothing to do with the distributor. you could take the thing out and it would still turnover (DON'T do that because you will loose the location of where the gear is suppose to be and you will have to retime it.) Check your battery, and your starter, and celinoid.

Re: Can someone with my 94 Dakota?

I know you have a 3rd gen, and I know you know this is a 3rd gen site as you stated so.

But, you're asking us to diagnose an issue with a Dodge? Come on! There's at least a few Dodge truck sites out there I'm sure - the same owners of TGO run several truck sites.

Won't it bother you in 3 years to have a REAL need for 3rd gen Fbody information, only to search TGO and have to waste 3 hours of your life weeding through all the Dodge, Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Mitsu, Saab, BMW, Mercedes, etc. etc. etc. crap? Think about it - Now, that's how we feel now - and thus the rule - 3rd gen Fbody only.

Why waste your time (and ours) here when your answers obviously lie elsewhere?

Google Dodge Truck Forum and see what happens. And keep our site pure, so we can all find what we need without wasting time and effort weeding through crap.
