is there any way to put a egr on a non egr intake?
i have done a vortec head swap on my truck but my intake is a non egr intake. i have noticed they sell spacers for fords where you can just mount the egr under the tb or carb. do they sell stuff like that for chevy tbi motors or does anyone know of a way to mount a egr to my intake? thanks

There's no exhaust crossover on vortec heads, so even an EGR manifold wouldn't help. You'll need to do some creative plumbing.

Yes, you can plumb in an external EGR, however, I don't know how it will work with your emissions and computer, etc because I have no idea where the apropriate place to pump the gases to would be. I would guess just under the TBI (like the F*rd plate you mentioned) would probably work, but I couldn't say for sure. I *think* the TPI or LT1 Corvettes had a totally external EGR valve. I wouldn't bother using the vortec exhaust manifold. Just get headers and weld a bung to them and pipe the exhaust gas to the valve, then the valve into the intake. You're going to have to do a bit of research, but I think it can be done.

I take it you're trying to comply with emission laws... there's a possibility that it will be identified as a tampering act and will fail your test...
