350 ramjet cam in L03
I have done a search, but did not come up with any results. I have a 92 305 TBI, 700R-4, and would like to swap the stock cam for a ramjet 350 roller. Will the stock rockers/valve guides cause any unwanted interference? and what about springs. will stock repalcements be ok? Thanks

You will need new springs with that cam and some tuning. Stock rockers are 1.5 to 1.
Id like to run the same cam with some vortec heads I have.

so just the cam, springs and a new timing set with a tune. What about the factory lifters, rockers, pushrods, retainers, etc....? all of that will still be useable? Thanks. also are there going to be any issues with valve to piston clearance?

Lifters, rockers, pushrods, retainers should all be reusable. There shouldn't be any clearance problems wth that much lift, just check to make sure.

Retainers are cheap and stock one's are garbage. Personally I would change them for any type of performance application.
If you are doing this work on your own make sure you get a shim kit and a valve spring height tool if you don't already have one to install the springs properly.

where would I go to look for the proper springs for this cam, also would the new retainers just be stock replacemets, or aftermarket ones? and I 2nd the, "has anyone actually done this cam swap yet?" I have done a few cam swaps before, but never on a SBC.

I'm not a spring and retainer expert but you should be able to use similar springs as the ones listed in the LT1 digest thread. The LT1 cam specs are pretty similar with slightly more lift. I think there may a retainer part number there as well.

so, after doing a search, I cam up with comp cams springs p/n 249-981-16. will the retainers clear the valve guides, and also how much spring pressure is too much for the factory pressed in studs? just want to make sure and get things right the first time.
