Edelbrock tbi intake
Hi I been wanting to upgrade my intake and been thinking of getting a tbi intake for my car but not sure if it would actually make a difference or should I spend my money on other mods like a cam.

Re: Edelbrock tbi intake
cam would be better but intake has to come off to do cam. save up and do both at one time. include a new double roller timing chain at the same time

Re: Edelbrock tbi intake
I'm building a 350 little by little right now I am just looking for a cam and an intake. Would a lt4 not hot cam work good with this intake or it won't make a difference with the stock one.
I am a noob at this so don't know much about this.

I agree that as long as you have the Peanut Cam in the stock 305" TBI it's really hard to advance the performance. The Edelbrock 3704 Intake is good , but without some mods, it won't help much. A good Air Cleaner Setup and Performance Exhaust will help more until you can change the cam.
Checking the Message Forums Search on TBI's will give you a lot of info. Don't get to radical on the cam or you will have a nightmare trying to tune it.
If you can find a good used LT1 cam would be the cheapest but are hard to find now.
Lunati has a good roller cam #LUN-50142 from Summit Racing, but it's expensive, about $290 bucks.
CFM-Tech Ported Throttle Body #62-350 is also a good mod, but is about $230 bucks. Takes the CFM's from about 480 to 620. There is a thread on this forum that tells how to port the Throttle Body yourself, but be careful, you can screw it up.
Good Luck with your ride...

Re: Edelbrock tbi intake
The Edelbrock 3704 TBI Intake is a stock replacement. It isn't worth the time to even swap it on for the stock GM TBI intake.
For a step up in intake manifolds, look at the Holley Pro Jection TBI intake, or use a carb intake with an adapter plate.
Do some searches here on this board for tons of threads discussing intakes manifolds for TBI set ups.

Dido on the searches, won't argue about the Intake. Will he have to use a Holley TBI to match the Holley intake? Is the ports bigger?. Maybe you can answer his question about the LT4 Cam.

Check out the sticky's above for the budget build up, along with the performance upgrades thread.
With a cam on a stock L03, or any stock engine, watch the lift. Unless you want to get into head work that is the first qualifier for a cam.
