Alright so this is the deal. Me and my dad are trying to find out whats wrong with my car because it smokes like crazy. Weve done everything to it. And nope its not the oil or the coolant. We think its dumping too much gas into it. I read somewhere though and it said that 305's have specific colors on their fuel injectors. But where do i look to find these colors is what im wondering? Is it the wires? Is it on the actual fuel injectors? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

if it is black smoke you have excess fuel going into the cylinders. Did you check your fuel pump or your sensors? You can also check to see if you have leaky injectors by pulling the plugs...if you have a wet cylinder you have a leaky injector. Also if you want to know the size of your injector, forget about the color... get the numbers off of the injectors, send it to us and we will tell you what size they are.

Well you might get more help in the tpi or tbi sections. We need more info like color of smoke? How its running and what it feels like? Smoke allot on start-up or more when warm? More info more answers. The guys in the other section would know more about injectors.

 

All right im stuck on what my car needs. I replaced MAS sensor and Fuel pump and filter. Car will start now but gas is leaking every where. I broke it down to check o rings and injectors. 3 injectors look differenet and to appear to be replaced by previous owner and o-rings look good. I turned the key and the injectors appear to be firing. Im lost i see here you mentioned that you check injectors what would that cost me and how long does it normally take. Any direction would be helpful this is my first project so need some serious guidence. Its a 5.0 88 firebird Trans am fuel injected TPI.

I changed all the spark plugs and got new thick oil,checked the tranny fluid, flushed and re did the coolant. And got a new exhaust
The car sat for 10 years if that helps? And we put half a can of Seafoam into it about 2 months ago...
its pure white smoke. Comes out when you start the car and keeps coming out while the cars running
