me neither. I put a chrome pcv breather on the other day and almost died. I was just thinking if you could fit a bigger filter it'd help you a lot the more air you can take in the more air you can burn

Here's a little different perspective...
After breaking something in the bottom end, my mostly stock 305 is coming out...

383 crate replacement on the way

Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
one92rs, i got some questions for you, the fuel lines, do you happen to have a parts list for those lines you made up there, i made up hard stainless lines for mine, but i like your setup better. And the heater line on the passenger side coming up from the frame rail, what all did you remove from that whole assembly? And what did you connect everything too. On mine i shortened up the lines but i still have the diverter valve connected, its sort of all in a bunch towards the back of the valve cover. Thanks!
Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
1x 712067 an fitting earls--120*
3x 700167 an fittings earls--straight
1x 991955 earls power steering adaptor 16mmx1.5
1x 991954 earls power steering adaptor 14mmx1.5
1x 100199 fuel pressure gauge adaptor
10x 780006 push on hose
got all parts from here--
http://www.anplumbing.com/shop/index.php
i used the 120* adaptor for the return line on the tbi at the tbi. the rest are straight #6 an fittings. the two poer steering adaptors go into the back of the tbi to go to an. i already had the two earl adaptors for the steel fuel lines. and i put the gauge adaptor at the steel line. then i routed them to the back of the driver valve cover. then under the side of the brake booster, behind the lines at the fender and then looped them in. and i wrapped the hoses under the wire loom with heat resistant header wrap. after a good friends car went up in flames due to heat and fuel lines i didnt want to take a chance.
on the heater hose i bought an aftermarket heater valve that had the hoses come in straight. didnt lie the way the hoses routed to it. when i was carbed they worked fine. so i blocked off the heater core for summer. then put in a 45* fitting on the back of the intake and then routed the heater hose around the back of the valve cover, along the frame to the radiator fitting. when it gets towards the end of the summer i am going to install the factory diverter valve and mount it below the a/c delete box.
that place i listed above has about the best prices on earls fittings and hoses. the only fitting i found cheaper was the fuel adaptor. but hell it was only 2 bucks cheaper and i was saving more than that so i ordered it from them.
lemme know if you have anymore questions. ill damn sure help out. oh yeay. it took me about 4 hours of contemplating to get it all like that. and i love my wife for being a car guru like me. if she says it looks like s**t she is usually right.

Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
Thanks! i already have the earls power steering adapters on the lines and the throttle body from my hard line install. So all i really need is the other fitting and the tubing. You said you just used the push on hose. Ive never used the push on type, is that all you do is just push it on, no clamps or anything like that?
Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
trust me. the real push on hose and fittings are tight. real tight and a pain in the **** to put on. they are not going to leak.

Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
UnderCover, is that the Edelbrock TBI Performer intake?
What does the seat-of -the-pants dyno say? Any noticable gains/losses?
With an airbox, sealing off the aircleaner from the engine bay and making it breathe through the cowl that aircleaner would be sweet
11" and 5" high?
I would personally rather stick with a max. 3" high aircleaner, but this definately looks meaner.
I just did some measuring yesterday and the stock intake, no TBI spacer, a 1" aircleaner spacer and a 2" flat based aircleaner leaves about 1" of air between the top of the aircleaner and the hood.

Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
Yes it is the edelbrock tbi. Well I had this intake on the car already, I just swapped it with a 2 inch bored out version I got from Shifty on here. so I could run the holley tbi without an adapter because my air cleaner is too tall it nearly hit my hood. it is 11x6. the car feels more powerful but the power isnt being utlized properly. I lost time in the 1/4. I am running out of gas at the higher rpms so I am installing a TPI pump and see how that does. Then I'll get into custom tuning in a month or two when I have the extra $$$ for EBL flash. I really think she has 13's in her. She ran a best of 14.2 so far
When I originally put a edelbrock tbi manifold, the car felt more powerful but I also rebuilt the engine, did a garage port job on the stock heads, bumped up the compression with forged pistons, installed cam, headers, etc..so it was too much at one time to say this did that much etc..I like the manifold though!

Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
Your joking right? its 11x6 its waaaay more air than I had before and I ran a better ET with this air cleaner on previously, (also did other mods) but I can hear the engine sucking more and it sticks farther up into the cowl than my previous setup. Which was a modified stock air cleaner housing, truck filter, flow thru lid, powercharger setup. And this looks waaaay better

Hey One92, what spark wire holder is that? i'm thinking about getting the same ones to clean up my plug wires a little more
Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
they are spectre 18483 wire seperators. got them at autozone.

now what i did was make my own brackets. i used 1/8X3/8 aluminum flat stock from lowes. i cut and bent them to mount to the head where the factory wire brackets bolted. 10mm headed bolt above where the manifolds are. i then polished them with aluminum polish and mounted them. i did this so they would not mount on top of the valve covers since i wanted to see my flames.

Nice engine bays here. I also need to clean up tose spark plug wires. I'm thinking of doing that sea foam treatment and I dont want those hot exhaust manifolds touching anything.
Re: Post some 305 TBI engine pics that are stock or custom
This set up has a IAT sensor glued and randomly placed into this.... will someone help me figure out which intake system will work so my car won't run rich anymore? Which air system do I take the dual or the single ?
