I want to see the coolest engine bay that is TBI post em up!!

 

This is areally old pic when camera's were less than 2mp. There are many old threads on this topic so make sure to search as well.

a/c delete have a/c delete box removed the pastice water valve on passenger side A.I.R. ( i know I know, i still pass smog) i have 4th gen coolant reserve bottle under battery

 

Very clean bay. That is my new focus. Very nice.

There's an old thread in the TBI section. From memory, a TPI airbox and ducting, a TB cover from a Caprice, and alittle fab work.

Yeah your car is a lot nicer than mine. Your probably clean your engine weekly I never did that. I am going to clean the motor soon so i'll post up a pic after that is done

That intake is a off a caprice....well the half that goes directly over the TB itself the the other half latches on.The front half were the intake rubber hose im sure he fab'd i had a similar set up but hood clearence is tight i had a dual snorkle set up

I would like to see some CFI too.

 

Here is my CFI car. I plan of doing a cowl induction setup when I get a cowl hood. I am also going to make hard lines for my heater hoses to clean up the bay a little bit.

More people run strut tower braces then I expected. I always thought about it. But I dunno.

 

STBs are an excellent idea...I run one.

 

First off sorry for going off topic. But if your not even into cornering and handling is thier any reason to have one?

 

very important to have a STB on a thirdgen-the whole
front structure on these flex and "matchbox"badly
without one-drive one with the hood off over rough
ground and watch the radiator support VS the cowl

 

I can't see how that can be a good test. the hood holds the both sides together with the brackets.

 

Eh well I will look into that in the future. Have too many other things going on right now.

I do like Robert's engine bay a lot not too flashy I dont like a ton of shiny stuff on engines

That's Swerve-driver's engine bay, I haven't seen him on here in forever. I think his idea for TBI "ram-air" is the best I've seen here.

Here is my engine when I bought it. In fact this is one of the pics the PO sent me before I bought it. Great advertising when you want to sell a car? Anyway purchased this last year and just realized no pics since I cleaned it. It is still stock for now, still trying to figure out a retro style sealed cowl induction setup for it to work with the cowl induction hood. I will try to remember to take and post recent one when spring is here, snow is gone, and cover comes off. Can't wait.

 

Well I finally got a pick to show y'all. This is with my new extreme air cleaner. 11x6 barely clears the hood.

It's a bit off topic, but is that PONTIAC emblem on the headlight stock or a custom job? It looks perfect, better than the normal hard-to-see logo! And I doubt you guys wanna see yet another dirty 305 engine bay; the one interesting thing about it is that I made my '89 Formula's hood bulge functional by tossing a '82-'84 Trans Am ram air setup on it.

 

I think the logo is stock if im not mistaken
