L03 fuel pressure

I want to install a fuel pressure gauge and need some options. I have a gauge that says its fr carbed motors but i think i can make it work on the l03 since the prssues dont get higher than 15 psi. Anyone's input would be appreciated.

main reason for this is that somtimes the car boggs down with wot. replaced CTS, IAC, fuel filter, EGR, Ignition control module, installed factory temp t-stat, and plugs /wires.

doesnt make sense why sometimes it delays response or ignors WOT when above ~10-15mph.

Trans seems good. fluid was changed last weekend and install pan with drain. fuild was about the same as what i put back in. its shifts are firm. magnet had about 1/16th inch of particulate on it- I have seeen WAY worse

Gas I use Shell and BP mainly, if cant find a good one I go with whoever doesnt have ethonal

Re: L03 fuel pressure

If you want to be able to see it while you are driving. You either have to have one setup in the car. or you can buy an inline fitting that goes onto your fuel line. where it connects from the frame to the engine in the engine bay. and run it up and set it on your cowl while you drive. I would not leave this permanently but to diagnose your problem should be okay. Thomas posted one up here a month ago or so in a thread. do a search for it.

Re: L03 fuel pressure

Fuel pressure tests will not reveal clogged injector screens.
Something to check.

Re: L03 fuel pressure

It would be best to first observe the injectors operation, (aided w/a timing light). Look for a fine mist spray, no streamers or dripping.

If visual inspection reveals poor spray cones the injectors can be accessed by removing the screws holding the top of the injector pod.

Poor spray cones may be caused by clogged screens or if the injectors themselves become obstructed.
