Re: engine wiring pics
no pictures here, but you've got 3 main harnesses in the engine bay. the one in the passenger side fender is everything engine computer related (sensors, injectors, etc). driver side has 2 harnesses coming out next to the booster; the half closest to the booster is all gauge and power related wires, the other one is the front end lighting wires. there's also a tiny wiring bundle that comes out about half way down the firewall, this is all hvac related.

Re: engine wiring pics
ok for starters.... WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR A/C delete pulley lol i love it!!! and are you running a smog pump? thats another issue im running into, i delete a/c and smog so i would have just the alt and the p/s and yea with the belt i wouldve had issues. and the wiring idk if im just a dumbass or what. but friday when i get out of work ill have to take a look at it all again and take a few pics of the issue im having. on mine theres like a *flat* wire loom spot that just seems like it should go somewhere but i cant finger out where. the only place i could think possible is it like uses the mount bolts for the trans to hold it to the back of the engine.... idk
Re: engine wiring pics
ok here!!! the flat wire loom goes behind the engine where the tranny bolts up. delete pullies can be bought everywhere. do a google search. if i were you i would lay the flat loom bedind the engine by the firewall. then spread the loom out. some of it will lay out and some wont. also around the flat loom will be the distributor plug ins. plug them in. also the grounds will be back there.
take some pics and i will keep track of this post to help out. and i have seen 1le delete pullies on ebay for less than 40 bucks.

Re: engine wiring pics
ok ok ok ok that was a huge issue i was having, i thought it ran along the subframe ok hopefully with that actually i should be able to put her back together. most of the plugs are easy, kinda fit the length and only go in one way lol. i gotta get intake gaskets and get the intake, TBi and dizzy on then ill get the wire loom started. awesome man i appreciate it, ill post some pics up of what i have so far. lol
Re: engine wiring pics
hold on. if the intake is off then do this. put the flat part behind the engine. then put all the grounds to the back of the heads. there are a bunch of them. then put the intake on and lay it all out. that is what i would do. it will be easier that way.

Re: engine wiring pics
ok ill definately do that, i was planning on bolting it all on the back before putting the top end back together, its to dark out now and my garage is cluttered so i cant push her in there but this weekend im gonna do that and HOPEFULLY ill be set on the wiring, a few things left on the trans side, and the front accessories then buy everything like the plugs, wires and all and figure something out for the exhaust.
Re: engine wiring pics
buy accel cap and rotor. pretty cheap and good. msd streetfire wires are like 40 bucks from oriellys and work real good. put stock plugs back in unless you have headers. if you have headers like me i use ngk.

lol im asking to much there thou!!!you want everything

I'll go outside later, remove the air cleaner and shoot some. It's not that doing it is a major pain, it's resizing the pictures so the forum accepts them. And i still can't figure out how to make my silly camera stop waiting 4 seconds from pressing the button until it takes the picture

Re: engine wiring pics
and the extra wires you see by the alternator are for the hayden adjustable temp sensor for the fan. I need to get some shrink wrap to put over those wires.
i like the Hayden and it's ability to be adjusted. The stock fan switch is just too darn hot before it goes on.

Re: engine wiring pics
:'( put the wires on the back went to set the intake on and apparently the motor i have is a pre-87
now i need an intake or need to egg out the center holes on mine. i even did a small P&P on the runners and water jackets mainly to clean them up and blasted it and painted it. now its easy chalk up 5-7 hours of quick labor and money to make it look good or buy a new one which i cant really afford right now and repeat everything with that one...

Re: engine wiring pics
It's a damn joke the way GM ran the wires for these engines. It took me a solid week to clean up a "corporate mess". Me personally I wouldn't run the stock wires in the "stock configuration. I gutted mine and it looks TONS better. I still would like to clean it up further but it's "ok" for now. Good Luck on your build man.

Re: engine wiring pics
cant get the timing right. and i got bit by the coil earlier and got pissed and walked away. ima check all my grounds in the monring, i didnt get my garage completely cleaned out today.
so check the
Grounds,
Battery Charge,
if that doesnt work ill have to pull the dist and start all over again with Cyl 1 TDC and all
would it matter if i have my headers on or not? i have them off right now would it affect since theres no back pressure?
