best gas mileage?!?!?!?!?! :)
Idk how...buti took a road trip too carlisle,pa, im from sinking spring area. it was about 80miles. I was behind my buddy with his truck..drafting haha only about 70mph. I filled up before leaving, and after. It was 157 miles i think, then i filled up when i got back. It only took 5.4 gallons. Thats 29.4 mpg i believe. My tank is full now, a lil past the full mark and it went down to about 3/4 tank whole trip.
Would drafting make that much a difference.....
i have a 91' rs 305 tbi auto. and just turned over 163,xxx miles.

Drafting probably makes quite a difference. I made a trip a couple of years ago from the Seattle/Portland area (where most of my "crew" is located) to Klamath Falls, OR with about 5 other 3rd gens nose-to-tail on the freeway. At the time, my 89 was all stock and it averaged about the same as you. Normally, it would have been low to mid 20's.

Re: best gas mileage?!?!?!?!?! :)
i also got 29.4 mpg on a road trip . i was going from ms. gulf coast to san antonio tx. . interstate , mostly flat country , used cruise control a lot . did not believe my figures at first , second tank 28.8 . my car is a true daily driver and i'm pretty **** about keeping a good tune on it . i live in a rural area and get 20+ m.p.g. in normal day to day use . my car is pretty stock with mild mods , headers , magna flow , ignition , 1.6 roller tips , moded intake .

Here are some other similar posts if you are interested. I found them interesting. It's suprising how restrictive these cars are. Great mpg though.
