ive got my camaro running again with a 305 with the stock exhaust mans 3" exhaust pipe and cat, eldelbrock rpm intake and eldelbrock performer plus cam, 14" eldelbrock open element air cleaner seems to run good but has that voom sound when i lay into it would that be because its a 305 and has the stock 2.73 gears or is it a sign that i might need to boost up the fuel system.i do plan on making a chip someday to looks like ill need some major help with that to thanks

Re: tbi 305

its not falling on its face, seems to go but i think it should have a little more spunk ,a better word would be moan than voom(just wasnt clicking in my head what to call it) sounds like the quadrajet

Re: tbi 305

I'm still at a loss?

You have the 700R4 auto and 2.73:1 gears

the vehicle starts in 2nd gear unless you floor it and the TV cable is set correctly. Are you describing the sound that it makes as the engine finally enters the power band?

Please be clear with the description. You may not be having a problem at all. you just might have too high of expectations for a stock smog era vehicle.

Re: tbi 305

lt1 205/207 duration @ 50*, .447/.459" lift, 117 Lobe Seperation Angle
eldelbrock Duration Advertised 268° Intake/288° Exhaust Duration @ .050'' 194° Intake/214° Exhaust Lift @ Valve .398'' Intake/.442'' Exhaust Lift dam i didnt look the lt1 would have been the better way to go

Re: tbi 305

Can use the dyno simulator program to figure out approx. how much hp, then calculate WOT fuel requirement (I use dynamicefi's exel file). Can post hp # if you need help there.

I doubt playing with the FP alone, will cure the issue, coustom tuning is usually mandatory.

Re: tbi 305

Best is you check compatibility with the seller.

EBL flash, is a better way to go, so you do not have to deal with the slowness and lack of important features of the stock ECM.

Re: tbi 305

You really really need to burn a custom chip (as everybody else has said). Also, get a 30psi fuel pressure regulator- it's in the budget TBI build thread

Over 18psi FP, the coustom chip is mostly useless, requires a way to support VRFP.

@ higher FP, the injectors pour out too much fuel, for exemple at idle, a VRFPR will reduce fuel pressure were not needed, but the ECM (including chip) is not configurated to control VRFP.

Bit of a threadjack, but how should I take care of the fuel delivery problems I'll have with my car after doing all the modifications? I hope the answer isn't EBL flash
