Oil Switch location
Oil Switch location
I'd like to replace the bad oil pressure switch. I'm tired of looking at the gauge constantly bounce around and drop to zero even when I'm driving and I'd rather not pay xxx amount of dollars to get it replaced if I can do it myself, but I don't know where it is. Anybody have a pic or tell me where its located at? Thanks.

Re: Oil Switch location
On a later model like yours it's probably sticking out sideways on the lower block just above the oil filter housing

Yeah it's right above the oil filter location. Some quick advice...Don't worry about getting the special socket to take it out, because you can't get it in there, so I ended up having to having to use a pair of adjustable pliers to get it out.

Re: Oil Switch location
it was in both locations, depending on exact year make model what the engine is for or from exactly
some vehicles had one at the back top of block and also driver side in rear right above oil filter just in front of the the bellhousing flange
the early and mid 80s engines
in the F and B body cars, mostly
most had the one at top rear of block near distrib though,. and not the one near oil filter
have fun!
