During the week my 91 was running down i-95 fine when it cut out flat. Towed it home, changed the distributor cap, fuel filter. Check the spark, timing, fuel pressure, fuel relay. Made sure all the codes in the ECM were cleared out. Took it for another test drive, car ran fine the whole way. Second test drive i got about 2 miles and the car quit flat again, no warning. Code being thrown is code 54. Car tries to start, sounds like ****. Looking for suggestions, please!

Thanks for the advice. I had already seen those posts and tried their recommendations before I posted this myself.

 

I had the same issue just a few days ago, where my car was very hard to start and also throwing code 54, I swapped relays for the one next to it (I believe it's the horn relay?) and the problem went away, so I'm pretty sure the relay is bad.

 

the one you swapped it with is the fan relay. the two relays on a 92 are fan and fuel pump.
