idles in park, not in drive

Hi guys, I've posted in tech/gen but I received no responses. Basically, I have a 90 rs with a 305 TBI I got a few weeks ago, it will idle perfectly in park but when I put it in drive I have to give it gas to keep it from dying. I've checked all the vacuum lines, injectors look like they're spraying fine any ideas on where to go from here?

Well 32 is egr, and a bad egr system can def cause that. 34 is MAP, Also can cause that problem, I have a thread about my map sensor issues, I would check that one out ASE doc put up some good info on how to diagnose your map sensor. Search for "map sensor I think?" That should pop it up. Lots of good info there. Didn't have time to look up 54(at work lol) but a quick google should find that one too.

Thanks, I've read and some people bypass the egr. Do you just plug the hose up?

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...l-gm-obd1.html
this is a great list that has all the trouble codes for an obd1 computer. now, I'm not sure why it has more than one meaning to code 54, but it says that a digital egr solenoid can also be bad. however, as far as I know, there were only digital egr's on a v6. so it might mean nothing.
I've never deleted my EGR so I'm not positive, but I think there is more to it than just blocking off a line. I think that you have to remove it and the solenoid, install a blockoff plate, and possibly even have it deleted from your computer's PROM before it will work right without one. I'm sure there's info somewhere on here as to the specifics. personally though, I wouldn't delete anything until you get the car running right in the first place. once it runs like you want, then start doing mods and removing stuff. but thats just me.

Remove the EGR valve and fabricate a block off plate. Install w/ new gasket.
