Re: fuel pump relay harness pinout ( wire colors)
so, guess what i did.. dropped that tank after troubleshooting like crazy.
and guess what i found?
... a plastic bag.
yeah, a damn plastic bag in my tank!! as soon as i dropped it and looked inside i saw that bag wrapped up on the filter. didnt let it get any gas. put everything together, went ahear and removed the rear spring isolators just to see the difference, and cranks right up.
im telling you, ima have to keep a closer eye on this car. idk why people get the need to mess with cars.
but thanks again tuned for the help brotha. hopefully this is the end of that nonsence.

Yea man I do. That's why I'm thinking. I'm a pro àt dropping this tank now so its whatever. Just getting stressed out. SCHURK mentioned something about a circuit, anyway to test that? I checked the green wire that goes th the relay to see if it lights up and it does.

Re: fuel pump relay harness pinout ( wire colors)
What if the ops doesn't close? Will that cause a "dead pump "? The pump wont turn on?

Re: fuel pump relay harness pinout ( wire colors)
If EITHER the fuel pump relay/wiring harness or the oil pump switch/wiring harness works, the pump will run.
The oil pressure switch system is a "back-up" to the fuel pump relay. Failure of the relay may cause extended cranking time--long enough to build oil pressure, close the contacts in the oil pressure switch, and then the pump pressurizes the fuel system.
If the fuel pump relay works properly, the oil pressure switch isn't needed.

What's the difference between that one and the EP386? Except for pricing? I believe that's the model number.

Re: fuel pump relay harness pinout ( wire colors)
The EP386 is a lower pressure pump and is for tbi so it will work well. Airtex = Do you enjoy dropping your tank , If your not in a real rush look for deals on ebay Delphi pumps are generally the same think you get in a acdelco or gm packaging.

Do not buy a walbro just a fyi, years ago they had a bad batch that cost some turbo guys there engines. The walbro pumps have more of a amp draw and need a heaver gauge wire and relay so the pump will not burn it self out real quick.

I tpi pump will work fine and may have the same life as a tbi pump as long as you don't starve it for fuel much ( run out of gas).
Therotically a tbi pump puts out less pressure so when you regulate it down to 12 psi the pump is working harder.

so youre saying that if i put the tpi pump at 12 psi, its gonna work harder?

thats what i was thinking, guess i misunderstood. 241 it is . hopefully this resolves it. i noticed my ops had oil inside the connector, ima clean it up and see what it does. but found the pump for cheap so just might buy it and keep if i ever need it.

Re: fuel pump relay harness pinout ( wire colors)
well, dropped it again. and i started troubleshooting the sending unit. seems that there was a bad ground , and the harness to the sending unit was rusted out. i cleaned it, hit the connector with a brillo pad, cleaned it up again, and kept checking the ohmage over and over and over. as for now, the car runs again, have restarted it like 5 times. hopefully, this can keep this way til i can get the new harnesses. I dont wanna spend all the money on a new sending unit but if it must be done, then i guess i gotta do what i gotta do.
hope you guys are doing great. thanks again for allllllllll the help.

Re: fuel pump relay harness pinout ( wire colors)
when you figure out the problem install one of these. takes the load off the original harness. I have been running one for over a year and it works great.
