Screwing with the throttle body would be way down on my list of priorities. There's stuff you can do that will actually make a difference in the power output.

If you swap to the 350 throttle body, you you plan to keep the 350 injectors? The engine will run very rich if you do.

There's a pile of differences among the various years of throttle bodies and the sensors that attach to them. In general, the throttle body should interchange if you have the correct base gasket, but the sensors may not interchange based on the style of electrical connector.

Here's a difference between two 350 TBI units:

Re: throttle body question

If your car is running well with what you have now I would not touch the TBI other than installing a open air element or better yet a "fresh air" intake.
This is probably the best setup I have seen.
Then work on your exhaust by at least a 3in cat back with a Magnaflow cat.
Then changing you rear end gear ratio and install a posi.

Re: throttle body question

When I was looking in to the TB ultimate mods I had the chance to buy one of this http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te.../photo_05.html https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/atta...i-dsc08184.jpg from Tom Miller at Turbo City.

Very nice piece of work! I ended up using it on my DIY 360 https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...imple-fun.html and it still works good.
