Gmpp vortec tbi intake vs carb intake
What's gonna possibly net me the best gains. Gm performance tbi intake for my vortec heads or a carb intake same heads with tbi adapter?no need for egr either not an emissions state.
Should have added that I'm also goin with 60psi pump 18 spring in a bored tbi

My vote goes to RPM performer with TBI adapter
Re: Gmpp vortec tbi intake vs carb intake
he may say different. but from reading if no need for egr Fast355 is going to tell you to go to a good single plain intake with your hp goals. hopefully he will chime in.

The GMPP TBI Vortec intake is good for about 250-270 at the wheels or about 330 HP at the crank and 5,500 rpm. Above those power drops off pretty drastically. With the right heads/cam/compression I think it would top out around 350 HP at the crank. Boring it to 46mm helps, but I really do not feel its worth the time or effort unless you really need EGR. I have heard of someone taking it out to 50mm, but that gets dicey. The best TBI performance intake manifold is actually one that edelbrock never released for TBI but used for the TBI to MPFI conversions. It is a low rise single plane that accepts all stock bracketry and emissions components.

Figured by logic it could take less airflow to achieve the same numbers on a 305. Of course only if the surrounding parts enabled the motor to make that HP. Think im around 250 hp?

You are probably 260 HP at the flywheel and maybe 210 hp to the wheels with the modifications you have, if your tune is relatively close to where it needs to be. The main thing holding your setup back is that tiny 191/196 cam that is sitting in the engine 5* advanced and only bumps the valves .414/.428". I tuned a Vortec 305 truck that put down 235 RWHP and 308 RWTQ with the stock cam and stock intake manifold. Had a K&N FIPK, shorty headers, larger 350 2.5-3" Y pipe, a high flow cat, magnaflow muffler, electric fans, underdrive pulleys and a the tune.

Wanted to have RF put a cam in it, but in the interest of preserving warranty, decided against it.
