Holley TBI questions

I'm wondering if anyone knows more about the Holley 670 cfm replacement TBIs.
-Are there any difference between the Holley main bodies of the 4.3 and the 350?
-On other posts I saw the injectors are kind of a problem and people use the GM injector pods and injectors. Is that a reasonable proposition?

Thanks!

Re: Holley TBI questions

Far as I know, the original (first design) Holley injectors--that had the rubber cap over the top of the injector--were the troublemakers.

The second design are OK.

Re: Holley TBI questions

Is the 670 cfm a higher rating than the OE Rochester piece?

Yeah, the Holley is a higher cfm. The stock is around 450 cfm. You can get a little more with the "ultimate" mods. The Holley has a 2" bore while the stock is I think 1-11/16" bore.

Yup, those are the crappy plastic- or rubber-capped early-production style injectors.

These are the newer, better style.

Is it true you can use a GM injector pod?

Re: Holley TBI questions

I've messed around with doing that. The GM injector pod has a locating dowel in the center of it. If it was ground down it would fit perfectly. You in the market for one of these Holley TBIs? I have one I'm trying to get rid of for 300 if you're interested.

Re: Holley TBI questions

Thanks for the info. I bought one off eBay with bad injectors and I've read the earlier Holley injector setup isn't great anyway.
Do the Holley TBIs use the same rebuild kits as the GM ones?
