End of a TBI legacy!
End of a TBI legacy!
Well, it was interesting...but I just didn't have the time or money to keep installing random things to make the damned Camaro move. I saw the 1997 Trans Am on the side of the road, for sale, in all its sleekness...and it called out to me. And thus, a car was bought, and she brought with her a 285 HP LT1 motor with a Borla exhaust already equipped. She also brought a T-56 six-speed manual, t-tops, and a gorgeous white body. Low miles were a plus...
The Camaro served me well, but I took out stuff I wanted and put the car and some crap up on eBay. Woot! Just if you want to check the auction out, go here:

Interesting, you can't keep a TBI car running, and you jump into a LT1, I somehow miss the logic in that.
Just have fun learning OBDII, and remembering how much fun the TBI was. Like when the R/F O2 sensor dies, yep you now have 4 to worry about, and the Optisparks at $200-400 a piece they are fun too.
3rd gens are a dime a dozen around here...seems like mustangs sell for way more but oh well i plan on saving up about 4k and by the end of summer buying a 91-92 z28 if i can find one..or maybe a 305tbi 5 speed iroc...just depends on what i can find...4 o2 sensors....have fun im sure the LT1 is alot harder to repair in all aspects than a TBI
You want to know something extremely ironic?
I go to pick the Trans Am up, and what happens. The differential is leaking, the transmission is leaking. My father determines that the differential problem should be ignored, but he can't put a finger on why there is an oil leak around the tranny area (bad)...he thinks a seal broke. So the dealer won't fix it, I'm not paying for a Trans Am that need work on it.
So I found a 1998 Camaro Z28 and bought it.
*sigh* The irony of some situations...however, I landed a LS1 instead of a LT1...and the car has less miles on it. Oh well, such is life, eh?
And what I meant by keeping the Camaro "running" was that I was sick of having to upgrade every damned thing just to get the car to be somewhat fast. It became tedious and costly..and the results weren't making me happy. So, forget it, I went LS1. :P

I want to go LS1, Only becuase it's the last engine in the Camaro and seems like it's got potential. Oh yeah, Its really fast too
I saw a 98 Z28 with 53,000 miles for 11,000. If I put 4K down My payments would be $200 and $200 for insu..
Seems like a deal to me... But I didn't get...

Is yours a4 or M6.. The one I want is M6 and this one was A4 and how do you like it?
