Cat-back Nitrous or engine dressup?
Cat-back Nitrous or engine dressup?
hows it going, i have 600$ acumulated from christmas and i think that now is the time to spend it., so far i have 3 different ways of spending it, and i just wanted to know where you thought i should spend it. oh and read my sig before you reply.
1 Borla catback and install it myself, or some other kind, high flow cat, and custom 3 inch tube going from headers to cat.
2 Nitrous (note that i need a new transmissin, and a fuel system tune up)
3 Engine campartment dressup like underdrive pullies, water pump, stainless steel hoses msd 6alignition, ect, so the engine will look real nice.
4start working on my suspension by re4placeing the shocks and struts, and ediach springs
5sub frame conectors welded on, and a aluminum driveshaft
6 or what do you think i should get
thanks

1. don't buy a borla cat back. you will be sorry. unless you have someoen around who can weld stainless steel and fab it into polace. they have the worst fit an dfinish in the industry. it took 4hours to put my "easy bolt on" borla cat back on.
2. nitrous is always a good thing. i woudl get your fuel system set up first if you are unsure of it.
3. engine dress up? all flash, no dash
sorry, i am not really one for image parts
4. i used to have eibach pro kit springs(sportlines ar etoo soft for great handling) and bilsteins( race rear shocks and heavy duty struts in front) on my car. it road great and handled like a dream
5. sub frame connectors will really help your upgraded spring and shock combo shine.
6. i would suggest, do you have posi and gears yet? nitrous is a great part time power adder, but some 3.73's are the kind of thing you can feel all the time.
6a. headers with a good y-pipe will do more to assist the engine in breathign than any after market cat back. even if they are attached to a stock cat back.
6b. do you have an after market intake yet? allowing the engien to breath a little easier through a edelbrock performer tbi will help your power and mileage.
the thing to not forget is all the ultimate stuff listed in the tech articles.

I don't think you would be disappionted by SFCs. Not only will they tighten your car up and eliminate dash rattle, but might save your a$$ in a crash. Don't do nitrous unless you are ready to do some serious upgrading/tuning to your fuel system. Oh yeah, if you havent upgradied to 4-wheel discs then that'd be a good idea (can't remember if it was in your sig or not). Also, I believe that aluminum drive shafts are only good for use up to 350-375 horses. Might want to think about a better balanced steel or carbon driveshaft if you plan to go over 350hp anytime soon.

I'd be embarrassed having a NMCA 4 3/4 " cowl hood and not the motor to back it up.

Look me up when you're in the 11s on that 305 WITHOUT a power adder.

Do what you want with the money but if you don't have SFC's then that would be my first investment. Without them the rest of the car is like J-E-L-L-O
As for the 325hp 305 tbi blah blah blah....I really REALLY hope you weren't seriously considering doing your number 3 "dress up"
