TBI help on injectors and rebuild
Hey all,
So I pulled my TBI and have it soaking. It was in bad shape. I pulled the injectors and I had two different ones. Looks like someone has tinkered with her. Just wanted to know what is the suggested injector to install. Looking on summit, there are multiple kinds out there. The ones that look the closest to mine would be a TJ 8 TJ 17 or a TJ 2 I also found the AC Delco ones for twice the price. What one do I need. I have a 92 305. I wanted to purchase the Trans Dapt TBI riser plate to help with some intake and open up the air to the carb. Also have been reading on cold air intake mods. There is also an adjustable fuel pressure regulator made by CFM. Any thoughts???? Trying to get some air into her lungs. Let me know on what injectors would work best and thoughts on the riser and fuel adjuster. Thanks for your help.

What is the MAP sensor telling you at WFO and max. RPM? If it's showing nearly atmospheric pressure, you've got all the air the engine can burn.
Another "romance" item that makes a lot of money for the folks selling them, which does almost nothing useful. You can get "cold air" from the stock air cleaner if you disable the provisions for heated air. The difference is that you can re-connect the heated air easy enough when the temperature drops, so you don't get throttle-body icing. Most air cleaners have a vacuum motor controlling the air intake temperature. Pull the hose off and plug it.
When it was me, on an '88 K1500, I stacked forty cents worth of #8 or #10 machine-screw flat washers under the platform that the regulator spring sits on, added about 3 psi fuel pressure, which almost completely cleared-up a bog when the (modified) engine was warming-up. Got the fuel trim numbers looking pretty-good, too. If your engine is stock or near-stock, 12--13 psi ought to be fine. What are your short- and long-term fuel trims telling you?
