any power

hey guys i have a 89 formula 5 spd. with a 305 TBI (LO3) and i was wondering wut your opinion is on wut i should do. I was gonan save alot of money and put and LT4 cam in it with an edelbrock intake manifold with the L31 vortec heads and a Holley 670cfm TBI. I already have full exhaust and a chip. my questioin is for all this it is about $1000 dollors and i figure with some suspension mods so i hook up i will prob run 13.8-9. But then on the other hand thats still not that fast and i put 1000 bucks into it. what do u guys think is th 305 a waste of time? should i look for a 350 and build it?also would a 350 2-bolt main with stock heads and just a cam and intake beat a 305 with all that work done to it? thanks sorry this is so long i am just lost. so let me know wut u think thanks

depends on how many miles you have. everyting that can bolt on to a 305, practicly, can be bolted on to a 350 so if you are disapaointed later you can take your heads and cam and just swap them over. If you're really worried, wait for NJ speeder to run in 3 weeks so we can see what a 305 TBI can do .

i always considered myself someone that would just build a 350 eventually, but now it looks like i am gonna be doing a top end job pretty soon cam, heads, intake,TB. TB, intake and some heads will still work on a 350, so the only thing that is a loss is gaskets and the LT1 cam i plan to install. i was thinkin high 13s myself, it is not that fast, but definately way faster then high 15s

There are a few good articles discussing what you're asking about at http://www.goingfaster.com/spo/spo_t...y_central.html

Check it out and see what you think...:lala: (just wanted to finally use the lala dude, no good reason)
