Which aircleaner to get?

I have a drop base 14x3 edelbrock on there now but I dont like the drop base and the spacer. It looks real restrictive to me. I can get a non drop base (just the base) for $17 and still use my nice edelbrock lid. or

For about the same price$2-5 more i could get one of those little triangular edelbrocks w/ the foam element. I think its called the pro flow. How well does this one work?

all i can say is dont put that pos proflow on top of your engine, and if you pretty much stock right now just a drop base is really good enough to were it would not make a difference

whatever cheapie 14x3 with a flat base your local auto parts/speed part shop has in stock. no need to spend big bucks on a big name.

Car: 91 Camaro RS Update: Sold Camaro, now own a "91" Corvette.
Engine: Corvette L98 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
If you're thinking of getting that non-drop Base from Summit Racing for $17, the Edelbrock lid is about 3/4" too high and the tbi stud won't secure it. I have the Edelbrock drop base and also the $17 flat base from Summit and the only way the lid will fit is to turn it upside down. This is without the tbi spacer ring. The Edelbrock lid is just pointed too much. I think Moroso has a flat base that'll work.

I'm using the Moroso Flat Bottom Air Cleaner.
Part# 65911, $47.99 from Summit.
Fits under the hood with no modifications,
Chrome,14x3",no spacer required to clear throttle linkage.Might want to punch a hole in it for the air temp sensor.Or you can put it elsewhere.

i thought taz or someone siad the triangular edelbrock rips apart after awhile? ANywho

K&N non drop 14'' x 2 1/4". Summit number "KNN-60-1263" $66.75

I just had to have the K&N logo after the drop base I had sat on my Coil plug wire boot, and sat unlevel. This is with the spacer ring i might add.

I used a little rubber plug laying in a misc. drawer in my tool box to plug up the line off the TB. I installed the IAT Sensor inside the Cleaner, but you can be lazy and let it sit. Or, use resistors which I have all the values written down from when Snufifigus (<---I tried) posted them.

I live the trick of getting a K&N stock element a chrome (or X-Stream) lib and using the stock base. That idea came along with the possibilty of cowl induction. Saw the setup on Speed Vision with "El Caminos" and "Rancheros".
