Clueless in the UK....

Hi Guys

I've just bought a 1989 TBI Firebird, and while the performance is ok, I get the impression from reading these posts it could be a lot better! My problem is I'm completely new to this tuning stuff and also I live in the UK so can't just go to a local shop and buy the parts - I'll have to order them in.

My first question is where do I start with tuning? I was going to fit an open element aircleaner like it says in the 'Ultimate TBI' article in the tech section, also I don't have to have a cat fitted to my exhaust over here, so I was going to remove that too. But where do I go after that? Is the stock exhaust without a cat good enough or should I buy a performance one? Would I gain anything by removing any of the emissions gear? (again, I don't need it in this country).

You'll have to treat me like a total beginner here - cos that's what I am

Also, take a look at NJSpeeder's thread on the "14 second recipe" or something like that.
If you have any specific questions after that, feel free to post away.
