i read .060 was the max overbore on the block so thats what i did. i built my engine thinking bigger is better...bored it to the max, half in ch cam, 1.6 rockers, titanium springs, lots of stuff. i had no idea what the boring out would do so i got a be cool radiator and flowkooler water pump to keep it cool with thinner cylinder walls.

i was quickest N/A stock cam i think. i went 14.209 @ 95.46mph. my car is all about hook as some of you can tell if you compare teh et and the mph, i cut a 1.918 60ft on that pass(best ever was a 1.911)
i had a stock cam, stock chip(jprevost has been beating me to death about this part for a year now), 1.6 roller tipped rockers, edelbrock heads, ultimate tbi, edelbrock performer tbi intake, tes headers, no cat and borla cat back. i had a full road racing suspension on the car, with skinnies up front and hoosier QTP's in back.

Well he didn't say Lo3 so I think my 13.8 at 102mph 2.176 60', is one of the quickest stock GM ecm TBI systems on the board currently. Lots of guys have faster cars but before they've taken the cars to the track or "tuned" the TBI, they've gone to carb. I seem to be the only 350 TBI with actual times. Z28 boy hasn't been, Brian Felts hasn't been (now he's carb), very few 350 TBI guys left. The only guys that keep the TBI on bigger motors are the eprom burning group.
I haven't done much if anything out of the ordinary with my car, swapped in a 350, RPM intake, holley 2" TB, 3.73 gears with posi. Nothing else. Custom eprom but that's given. Considering I was running on streets, stock torque converter, and lowered with no LCA relocation brackets (wheel hope and spin), all limited to a best best 2.130 60'. If I can get some traction I'd be mid or low 13's with the mph and weight of my car. I've got a 2800 stall converter that'll go in this summer. I'm going to work on traction instead of the cam swap. No point of having lots of power if you end up getting beat off the line by a honda! It's like having a jet fighter with no guns and no wings!
If anybody knows anybody selling some centerline 15x8 5 hole gambler wheels let me know.

I know I know!

I'll get it to the track Jon.... Even with my 2:73's *EG* and no posi.
I am kind of anticipating something from you too! (even bigger *EG*)

I will dyno first.... track second.

Lots of 13.7 at 99.99 MPH, and this was 4-5 years ago.
355, AL vette Heads, Comp Cam 270, 9.5:1
No power braking, big front and rear bars on, lowered, T/A for tires, thru the muffler, 75K+ miles on the engine.

Cross Fire, spent lots of time trying different porting, and bored the TBs out for 2" butterflies. Early BBC injectors.

Learned prom burning on that car.

I'm runnin a 350 TBI...still w/ 305 chip and injectors and stock converter....my previous best was 14.7 @ 94, but last week the track opened and I ran 14.5 @95. So I guess I have the 3rd fasted TBI on the board, i'd be second if I slapped some slicks on like NJspeeder.

hmm.. I did a few test runs.. I did them in overdrive.. since the engine only has 600km's on it.. also note that after 1000kms I switch to mobil 1 and have to advance the timing 8 degrees.. anyhow I came up with 15.43 and 95mph.. with my stock 15" winter tires... I'm hoping I can do at least 15's flat with my 255-50-16 kumho's.. and the advanced timing... anyone know if this is a good starting point for a 4160lbs p/u?

I've got the fastest TBI of anybody that has a stock TBI. (NJ speeder and JPrevost both have 670 TBI units i think).

15.0 Flat running rich. Look at all the grey smoke at WOT!WEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I am sending my TBI to be modifed by camaroracer1992 and adding my adjustable fuel pressure regulator and injector spacer. Then I am going to tune that during spring break and my NOS system should be paid for and sent by then along with the extras (hopefully). Now I just need to get the money for slicks and maybe an adjustable torque arm (if I have any money left on the credit card ) and I will be shooting for low 13's then. Thats if all goes to plan, which never does. Oh and I got a 2800 Stall Torque Converter for 125.00 from a buddy as well. WeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee!

I swear by all thats holy I will break into 14's w/o touching the internals of this engine (no intake, cam, head)

I think Joe had the fastest stock TB and 305 TBI on this board. He ran a 13.10 on the bottle.

Considering the 4 Di kits have 4 barrels and up to 900cfm with 4 65# injectors that'll support over 500hp....you had better run a 12.4 depending on the motor. Heck, I plan on running mid to high 12's with the 670 holley unit with a hot cam and traction.
No bottle on this baby, if I'm gonna run fast I had better just have it all, all the time, none of this bottle feeding stuff.
NJSpeeder is doing it all N/a, I feel that counts more so than any engine on N2o. Heck, if I wanted to run fast, why don't i just use an air to air intercooler that's cooled down by some compressed Co2. That way I get a freezing cold intake air charge but ain't sucking in any "special gas." . SLP designed a system that did exactly that when they were doing salt flat top speed records.
So if your'e gonna use the bottle, keep it NA and just use the bottle to cool down your intake air temp , that's gotta be worth a couple if not a few tenths of a second even on a wetflow system, more on a dry flow.

JP, I highly recommend the ZZ4 cam. Much cheaper, easier to find used thatn the Hot Cam, minimal programming needed from where you are now. MUCH more lift than your cam and comparable lift to the Hot Cam with lesser duration (ZZ4 is .470/.510 vs .492/.492 on the Hot cam, all with 1.5 rockers)

I say this only as the HOT cam will need more airflow and rpm and the 2" unit is coming close. The ZZ4 will make more torque down lower before the TB unit runs out of air and fuel... Mine is running REALLY well with the ProJection unit right now. So well that I almost don't want to run the MPFI!?!?!? Only joking. $550 plus injectors into the MPFI has to be run. Just giving you my experiences. that ZZ4 cam is ok, with big valves, good springs and 1.6 roller rockers all around...

Who says I'm spraying???? With some fine tuning I should run high 11s. on motor alone.

WHEN I spray it WILL be a 10.xx sec car.

i had an SS run from me before after we screwed around in traffic before. it was pretty funny actually. light changed i launched, hit second, looked in the rear view and side mirrors and no one was there. when we got back home my friends who were following me said when i stalled the car up and the light changed the kid just flipped on his signal and made a fast right.
i was sorta pissed, it was brand new, temp tags on window, with some snot nose punk driving it(thatnks for the car mom, type of kid). obviously a stick car the way he was pushin it around too. i wanted to see how long i could stay in front of him and he ran and hid on me.

I was using TBI last summer on my 357 with vortec heads, edlebrock performer intake, decent cam, and T56. Ran a 13.9@103mph with a 2.6 60 foot time. Yeah, I don't have ANY traction!! I NEED posi and some decent tires. I'm gonna venture and say that I coulda hit 12's with more tuning of the 7747 ECM. A good friend helped in getting the chip close, but WOT needed some more help.

I went to an Accel Pro-ram system just because it was something new to play with and is a lot easier to tune. Much better intake too - made by linginfelter.

im hping for a mid to high 13 this spring or summer after i get some tuning done. the gears and posi are coming, the tranny is already done, and the suspension will be done pretty soon after the car is on the road. who knows...if i get good at the tuning thing, i may have a low 13.

but, of course, good times usually equal money, and in my case, that definitely will hold true.

Birmass: Are you running Plain-Jane Vortecs with the cam in your sig? How's your valve train holding up? I was thinking of going Vortec but I am running .480 lift on both sides with 214/224 duration. I heard that this was pushing the limits of the stock Vortecs?

They are stock vortecs with stock springs, but the springs are shimmed a little for more pressure. I haven't had any problems at all. I've never taken it over 5500 in a driving situation though. I'm starting to suspect some valve floating maybe though because of the weak springs. I'm using the stock valvetrain from the 305 too(rocker arms and rods).

If I were you I would not worry at all about running the .480 lift, but don't quote me on that.
