mayeb they saw jon's stie and saw how well the vortech motor responds to tbi and decided to jump in
looks like a kewl deal though. be a really straight forward swap, just swap over your sensors and drop it in. very nice package.

For that kind of money it should come with a new chip and 454tb. I can't see how just adding a tbi intake jumps the price up a thousand dollars.

playing devils advocate now: The intake is something like $300 by itself. It has a better cam too than the 330 H.O., but the 330 H.O. has 4 bolt mains. Its mostly for ease of installation it seems You don't have to get a L98 shortblock $1200, + intake $300, + heads $430, + special springs to run the cam, + cam.... All the labor is done and comes with a warranty.

That motor has a roller cam if it's making that kind of power with those low duration numbers. You gotta figure that I have pretty much the same engine minus the roller cam but I've got 4 bolt mains, and a better intake...for less. The roller cam is a good thing and I would take that motor over mine if it was about $500 less than the asking price. Right now my block is roller ready, and I've got the lifters from the 305 so all I need is to swap in a roller cam if I ever wanted to do it. Right now I'm just going to hold out until I can see how fast I can get this beast down the 1/4. If I can do sub 13.5 and @102mph then I'll do a cam swap.
The problem with the cam swap is that I want to do the Lt4 hot cam swap but that would require the heads to be pulled and worked for the higher lift. It's not a big deal, I just need to find an Lt4 hot cam for cheap cheap cheap. $540 for the "hot cam kit" is a rip and I'd rather spend $250 on good 1.6 rocker arms and another $250 for a better roller cam. Oh well, nothing to do until I start making a profit, lol, that won't be until this summer.
Again, awesome engine if you've got a truck, but if you've got an f-body that has the roller lifters and parts, you're better off getting the normal HO motor, pulling the cam, installing a roller cam of your choice, and swapping that in.

Hey Jon

I'm going to run the ZZ3 cam (208/221, 480:510), do you think I'd be better off running a milder cam like the TBI H.O. has since mine is also roller? If I can really make those kinda numbers with a milder cam it seems like a better idea I guess. Also, if I get the specs on the car to you once it is installed and all done, do you think you could burn me an EPROM so I don't have to wait until I have the $$ and know how to do it myself right away?(this go fast stuff is also go broke stuff) I guess I should probably E-mail you on this one.
