need info on 193 heads
I have a set of heads off a 1988 chevy 1/2 ton. The casting number is 14102193. Do these heads flow alright? What is the cc size? I'm looking for a set of heads to rebuild and port in class. If they are junk i'm not going to waste my time. I'm planning to use them on a TBI 327.
The heads were used primarily on 87-95 TBI 350 trks and do have 76cc combustion chambers with would lower the compression ratio on a 327 with a flat top piston to about 8.0:1.
The heads are called swirl torque but have a swirl vane in the intake runners that restrict flow, however they do make respectable low end torque.

They also came on 350 TBI Caprice police cars. They are 76cc with small valves. If they are free, they would probably be suitable for a small displacement engine like the 327. You'll need to compensate for the larger cc combustion chamber or your compression will be down.
Yes the heads are free. I used the 88 350 in my 69 camaro with trick flow heads. I havent bought the pistons yet. I was going to wait until i figured out what heads i'm going to use. The only other set of heads I have are off an 88 cop car that came with a carb but i havent looked at the casting numbers yet.
