305 HO Heads on my LO3

These should bolt right on and I already know they are alot better than the LO3 heads, duh.

With my exhaust and cold air intake, and these heads, do you think I can get past the 200hp wall or at least be at the wall?

What should I except when installing these? Will my current intake match up?

Are these the L69 heads which end with a casting number of 416? They are supposed to be one of the "better stock" 305 heads. What intake do you want to use and what are your other mods?

What I know is the block is an 305 TPI with factory HO heads. Its free so I'm taking it.

I've currently just got an exhaust and the usualy TBI mods. And I wanted to use my stock mainafold from my LO3

Are they centerbolt heads? If they are they should be casting number ending with 081 I think and they should work well with your stock intake.

This would be a good time to learn to port heads if you have the equipment needed or can borrow.

I am getting a set of those from my son-in-law and will be porting and replacing springs and seals to go on my 305. The Vortec's I'm running will be used on a 350 build up.

Centerbolt heads drop right in, Perimeter bolt head require re-angling the 4 center bolt holes in the intake. Either way the best place for the TBI swirl heads is the trash can.

un4givin man you beat me to it!

I had a couple Ideas about heads. One was yank the heads of my freinds 305 he pulled out of his 85 HO Trans AM (which was replaced by a vortech 355. Woohoo!) The only concern I had was accessories bolting up and a TBI intake fitting it.

The other was if/when i can get the bucks together to rebuild the motor, put some centerbolt 305 HO heads on. 3rdGenResource sells them for like $100 a pair, and they've gotta be better than the L03 Swirl port heads. You guys think a rebuilt 305 with the HO heads, an LT1 cam, and an edelbrock TBI intake would be a nice low budget engine? I mean I'd be happy with like 230-250 HP
honestly.

I'd like to use mine as parking blocks personally. (the garage is a tight fit, seriously by GFX are six inches from the freaking lawn mower right now and thats too close a distance to risk guessing about). It'd be cooler than the bricks I'm using right now! Gotta replace them with something first though!

Are you sure that that price is for a PAIR of heads? It sort of looks like they're trying to sell you a single head for $100.
What was the consensus? 305 TPI heads worth the effort? Thanks lots.

Yeah you're probably right. I don't always pay much attention to little details like that. Bad habit.
