In it's stock form with the stock chip, but perhaps with higher fuel pressure, how much power can the stock 305 TBI unit support before it becomes the limiting factor? Then, the follow on question is how much can it support modded before it just doesn't pass enough air?

Don't know from experience, I'm still pushing the 200 hp threshold but I've been told that the stock TB can support up to 300 hp before becoming a truly limiting factor.

 

Depends of if you do the ultimate TBI mods, if you run an injector spacer, and what style air cleaner you use. The non-drop base air cleaners are the best.

 

Holley tech support once told me 260 HP. I'm sure it'd be more if you did an injector upgrade. But, at a higher HP level than that, while the stock TBI may be able to support X amount of HP, a bigger one I'm sure would cause you to see a significant gain.

Yeah unfortunately that is very true. If I can hit about 220-230 with this motor I've got planned (supa-budget mild engine) I'll be happy. Put a 5 speed and a 3.73 behind it and thats enough HP to hit a 14.0, and honestly if i can hit that I'd be happy.

 

I'm shooting for 300HP without any type of power adder.
