Broke off my phucking key!
Ok here's a dumb one...
I broke off my stupid key in my drivers side door. How do I get the broken portion out? I've already tried getting at it with a needlenose pliers, but that doesn't work. I've also tried trying to snake in there with a paperclip. No luck... HELP!!!

I did the same thing a while back. The good thing was that the broken key handle still was able to lock and unlock the lock with the broken off piece in the lock. I ended up trying to fish it out with some dentist like hooks, and a small needlenose. I got it out, but broke the little flapper off along with the slotted thing that the flapper pushes against.

You might have to take the lock out and give it too a locksmith. Better yet, drive over to the locksmith and ask him to fish it out, I am sure he has the tools and skills to do it.
just an idea, no clue if it will work or not. goto radio shack and buy one of there strong magnets. you will have to ask, as the dont come in a blister pack or anything, they are shipped to the store all in one plastic bag. They are a decent size, so if the key is not turned or anything, but in the same 'up'position when you push in/pull out the key you may be able to pull it out with the magnet. Again, just an idea.

You /could/ take the lock out of the door. Yeah, I know, a pain in the butt job... ever pulled the door panel before? Anyway, when the lock's in your hand, you can remove the outer "cover".. the thing with the flap that keeps dirt/moisture out. Maybe then you can grab the key. Remove the lock's cover while holding the thing inside a plastic bag, I /think/ there's a little spring under there. I'd think that would let you get a bit to grab the key with pliers. I assume the key broke off flush with the cover?
When I bought my car, the flap was missing... I brought the lock into a now out-of-business GM dealer, and the guy had one, and even put it on my lock! (It took him about 2 minutes.)
Good luck...

I have a idea but be carefull. Get a pin and some JB weld. Glue the pin to the broken Key, wait like 10 hours or so then pull the key out. Wait use a paper clip since its flat on the end. Dont do this wrong or you will have to pay 20 bucks for a new key and lock.
i hate it when that happens
That happened to me once i put the ignition key in the door and bent it. I was at the beach with my girlfirend and I had to jam my key in the igniton and when i got home i was trying to bend it back and i broke it.
