Whats the difference?????????

Went to get new front calipers today and found this............

Front calipers for a 2 wheel disc brake car=$9.95 per caliper
Front calipers for a 4 wheel disc brake car=$33.95 per caliper

I looked at the 2 wheel disc caliper, and it is the same as my 4 wheel disc caliper.
Anybody know what the difference is?

Are you talking about calipers or brake pads? If you meant PADS, there is a difference in the composition of the friction material, and the extra cost is generally rewarded with extra stopping power.

Same brand of calipers.....Even have the same casting numbers on them..
They orderd a pair of the "4 wheel disc calipers" and they will be in tomorrow.I think I'll take my dial calipers with me and measure them.....

I'll bet they're the same.......................................

At my auto parts store the "4 wheel disc calipers" are actually 1LE calipers and the "2 wheel discs" are actually non-1LE ones.

Go figure.

Autozone just called to let me know the "4 wheel disc"calipers were in..I asked the guy to open the box,and HOLY BAJESUS they're dual piston 1LE calipers. No wonder why they're 3 time as much..
Everytime I go there for parts they ask me if it has the performance package.Well yes it's a WS6...Wrong answer.Their definition of performance package is "1LE"but they don't know that.
Thanks for the replies,Brian

Glad to be saving the $46.00...............
