Installed new altenator and a weird problem?

Last weekend i installed a new alt. in my 88 TBI which has a serpetine system. Do you guys know the metal piece that holds the radiator hose from hitting the belt? well the belt is rubbing a lil on the piece. I adjusted it the best i could and when I floor it is still rubbs a lil. How can i fix that problem. I also bent the 2 teeth at the bottom and still no luck. anyone have this problem before?

if I understand you correctly you are just having a problem with the upper radiator hose contacting the belt? Can't you just fabricate some sort of rigid bracket to hold it out of the way? What about a different hose that routes it differently.

No it is the bracket that is holds the hose out of the way. I just couldn't think of the word for it before. Its only under heavy loads like when I floor the car and the engine rocks a lil. I am going to try and cut the teeth off the bottom and see if that works.
