305 Tbi

As far as my 305 TBI goes, would a hot cam and porting my heads put me in the 13 second range? Or do i have to put something else in to get that number?

I am hoping that it will, with ported World S/r torquers and a ZZ4 cam I am hoping for mid to low 13s.

i hope everyone realizes tht it takes more than an engien to run a 13 or all you efforts are completely wasted.
you need traction and gearing to get there too.

later

What kind of transmission? The auto is a weak geared rear so seeing 13's with the stock gears doesnt really seem feasible. The T5's setup is a little more promising however.

In the hot cam's case, I dont think the heads would allow the cam to breathe enough, and neither would the stock intake.

Suspension is also a factor, though if you have FE2 on your car, you do have a already good suspension from the factory. Still some control would benefit times greatly.

13's are obtainable, just not without some work.

iroc22.. When are you going to take your car to the track? I am very interested to see what it will run, because I will be runing the same heads with a larger cam in a few weeks.

As far as suspension i have eibach sportline lowering spings, Sway bars, and an AMR panhard rod. So not to much. I have stock transmision with stock gears. Intake is a dual snorkel with K & N.

Wha? Are you saying that you ran 13.6 on ported stock heads with a big cam, and a K&N?
Hmmm, might need to see the timeslips to believe it.

EDIT: iroc22, I just noticed that you're running the flowtech headers. Are they the 1 1/2" primaries? If not, where did you get them.

Yeah, I'm not believing 13.6, post some time slips. Besides, you started the post and a day later you have the answer to your own question? Hmmmm, let see some time slips!

NTChrist- 1 1/2 primaries

JR305- I'm thinking in the 14.5-15.0 second range. The FE2 IROC suspension is pretty tight, so I dont think traction will be a huge factor. I wanna replace the control arms b/f I go though.

What gears and intake manifold do you have on your car? Also, I know I have asked you before, but how well does the stock chip run with that setup. Because I will be running the same heads with a larger cam, ZZ4 (208/221 .474/.510 112), on the stock chip for a while and want to get an idea of what to expect.

I dont know why this was moved. It is TBI related.

Stock 3.08 rear

Intake manifold: Edelbrock 4bbl performer manifold *not installed right now, in about a week.

I couldnt be happier right now how it runs with the stock chip. The MAP system took the cam and heads really well. I mean really well.

Thanks, good news for me.

Think it was moved because of the 13.6s comments.

I'm sorry I am not gonna beleive that a 305 TBI ran 13.6 with port and cam... Its just not gonna happen...

Hell My V6 Beats out a local TBI and he has headers, exhaust, Spacer, and K&N... I expect I am running mid-low 14's.... I know he has ran a 14.6 and on the street yes I know things are different, but 4 car lengths win margin?... Track will just embarrass him...

He would be lucky to hit 15.5 with those mods on a TBI
