Check to see if the blades are getting caught on something. The center of my fan was getting stuck on the radiator itself and causing it not to spin.

rrun a hot wire from the bat. to the fan while its in the car and see if it works, if it does there must be a problem in the thermostat or electrical

If it's always getting this hot, you need to replace your air dam... it should only get that hot while stopped in traffic and not moving.

the above post has a point. have you changed the fan switch? or try grounding the wire that goes to the switch. it should come on. if not look towards a bad relay. best of luck
i installed a 180 stat today and im waiting to see what the hell is wrong with the fan
its the fan thats not on the driver's side
please help i need that working properly
thanks is there any fuses that can be causing this?

I think that the relay for the fan is on the firewall. Drivers side behind the brake booster. If it's not there then maybe someone else can help.

on my 88' and 89 they are both by the battery. on your 91' they may or may not be in the same place. the could by the brake booster as 94' stated.
cridom,
If you're serious about fixing this...take it step by step and come back.. and be patient so people have time to respond to your questions. Anyway,
If you take the black with red stripe wire, connect it to an alligator clamp, connect that to your positive terminal on your battery, does your fan come on? If it doesn't, you've got one of two problems that I can think of... either like stated above, your fan blades or something else is stuck and not allowing the fan to turn, or your fan isn't grounded. Check the ground for your fan..maybe when you 'reinstalled' it you didn't connect it to a smooth, unpainted/unrusted surface..
If your fan DOES come on when you do this, I'd say your relay, or some wiring along the way, is fried. We can go in depth on this after you get back to us... at least if your fan comes on with the alligator clip method you can just clip it to your battery whenever you go anywhere...it's a temporary solution.

With fan installed as original, ignition on, ALDL a&b grounded, does your fan come on? If so relay should be good. If not replace relay. Also is your car actually overheating (puking coolant, running like the life is being choked out of it) if not gauge could be giving a false reading (like mine does) and your car just isn't near the temp required to turn on the fan.

it would be a wise idea to run a manual fan switch anyway, like to underneath your steering wheel. I did it to mine and it ran ALOT cooler. Like no more than 160*. But now it got hot so it runs a little hotter, but never over 220*.

i would just run it to a toggle as long as it does work and then flip the switch when u start to heat up. just my opinion

you cant tell just by looking at it... look for your rpo codes in the glove box or in the compartment of the trunk. Look for the code LB9 or L98. If it is LB9 it is a 305 or L98 is a 350. I know there are other ways to tell but I am not sure what the casting numbers on the engine are.

The one relay should be mounted on the radiator support, near the radiator cap. The other is mounted between the battery & the headlight. They should have "14089936" printed on them & have a 5 pin oval electrical connector.
