How can I tell if I cracked my heads?
Help......Cracked heads? need advise ASAP
Today I was working on my A/C finally had to put one on. But anyway I forgot to turn on my fan.....and the temp went up to around 240 or 250...I noticed it when the needle was right befor the red and the gauge ends at 260.......then I turned on the fan and used my air nozzle to blow air over the RAD. So how can I tell?

Well it has been that hot once befor.........about 1 year ago. Same thing happend my dumb *** forgot to turn on the fan....and the same thing, The heater core started to rattle and I about crapped on myself
I think weve all done that one once or twice
If you cracked a head you would notice a big performance drop...........Dont quote me but the easiest way to check is to check for bubbles in your radiator fluid. Usually is a sign....But iit doesnt mean that its a major problem..

Nope car still runs great............might run alittle hotter but that could be me watching the gauge more, but it still runs real good....No water in the oil or oil in the water. I think I am going to wire the fan DIRECT!!!! Then there can be no more

For about twenty-two bucks you can wire in a thermostatic fan contrtol to solve the problem.
If you are concerned about damage to iron heads at that temperature for a short time, unless you were really "working" the engine hard, don't lose any sleep. Iron is very forgiving. Aluminum might be a completely different matter, however. A short time at elevated temperatures can cause warpage.
