Very Basic Open Air Question (Another one)

Very Basic Open Air Question (Another one). I will be getting a Mr. Gasket Open Air Filter and one of the K&N 14X3 filter elements. I have a few questions. I know the Vaccum line needs to be plugged. I know that AIC wire goes into the bottom of the new air cleaner.

1 - Do you NEED to re-program the ECM? Is this a requirement or just an enhancement?

2 - Should I get the 0-Drop Base model or the Drop base Model.

This is for an LO3 Engine in an '89 IROC.

I have found some etremely over complicated articles on this and some very basic lacking articles. Basicly, I just want to feed my engine more air. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

All you have to do is drill a hole, or use one of the pop
out tabs if there is one, and put the Sensor in there other
wise you will get a code.,

Thanks Bluebird. But the two questions that I had was:

1 - Do you NEED to re-program the ECM? Is this a requirement or just an enhancement?

2 - Should I get the 0-Drop Base model or the Drop base Model.

Thanks,

Andy
