cam or bolt ons?

i have a stock 91 t/a and i was wondering if the stock valvetrain will hold up to the comp xtreme energy cam with .495/.502"lift? if not what bolt ons should i get? current mods in sig.

DAVID

P.S. no i dont have headers(i refuse to spend 450 on the slp's and i hear that the edelbrocks arent any good)

That cam's to big for stock springs. If you go with it I would have the heads machined for screw in studs also..

And get long slot rocker arms. The computer might not be very happy with you, though.

Unless/until you get headers, you're only hurting yourself. The SLPs are the best, I went with the Hookers for the sake of economy but stayed away from the TES for the same reason you stated.

I'm pretty sure i've read that the stock springs will only take .470 -.480 lift

Definitely get the cam. Also get the Comp Cams 983-kit set of springs that will sit in the stock spring seats.
