A/C Compressor & Temp Question
what is a good brand reman compressor? is there even one in existince? O Reiley's, Autozone, Advanced, Car Quest, & Napa carry remanned Four Seasons BS compressors. they really suck. i have gone through a couple and boy they make a loud rattling noise. my original harrison never made THAT kind of noise. it just leaked a little. i would advise to stay away from parts stores that carry Four Seasons remanned compressors. well i guess i will have to get an AC-Delco compressor if all else fails.
as for the tempeture question. for you guys with A/C(TPI Dual Fan Setup), what temperture does your car run with they A/C on? at Idle? on the freeway? mine runs around 220* idling and 180* on the freeway. i think it runs a little hot whilst idiling? what do you guys think?

cooling question
hey bro i just picked up a 92 z-28 with the 350 and im trying to get a handle on the cooling system myself...here is the deal...the drivers side fan i believe is controlled by the computer to turn on at some *** awful temp..way to high from the factory...so i installed a hyper tech thermo master in the car...and the fan turns on about 180-190?...the passenger side fan is controlled by a thermal switch in the right cylinder head..to also turn on at some *** awful temp..lol...i also ordered a lower cooling fan switch from hyper tech to take care of that...also installed a 160 deg temp thermostat from hyper tech as well..had to do that because of the programming for the new chip..hopes that helps guy
your temps sound right on the money if you havent made any changes from stock, as far as the comp. goes, I think your right, I bought a reman from NAPA and the first one sucked, loud chattering and then died, got a free replacement from them and it is making almost as loud a noise as the first. hasn't died yet but it makes the whole car vibrate when running, what a pain.

Your not going to find a good reman compressor at a chain store like Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.
Those Four Seasons (aka. For Siez'ons) compressors are sold under a few different names.
The guys at the aircondition.com site bulletin board recommend this site for reman compressors.
http://www.ackits.com/
Prices aren't too bad either.
Lot of good info on both sites, especially the aircondition.com site.
