Knock sensor replacement
Where is the knock sensor and how do you replace it? More like is it pretty easy to get too? I have access to a full lift and pretty much all the tools I need I just need to know if it is doable...thanks in advance...

Any chance someone has a diagram? Just so I know exactly where to look...these damn engines really intimidate me...i'd hate to screw it up by replacing the wrong sensor with the wrong sensor...Also does it need to be put in very tight? Or just snug? Any thread lock or something like that? Let me know...I appreciate it.

Look under the passenger side rear of the block, and youll see it. Its round, cylindrical thing usually silverish. It has one wire connector going to it. Just remember that its threaded into a coolant passage... and make sure the engine is cool. I learned the hard way.

Thanks for the info guys...installation went very easily. Thank goodness that fixed my pinging problem...too bad it took me $140 at the dealership just to find out that the knock sensor was bad. Oh well...better than paying them the total $250 the wanted to diagnose and repair...what a rip. Took me 5 minutes and the part was only 30 bucks...how come that doesn't seem to add up to me...lol lets see 250-140-30=$80. That means that they would have been paid $80 for 5 minutes of work...thank goodness I didn't let them replace it for me...thanks again guys.

it is right in the coolant passage but not a whole lot came out. Granted it only took about a minute between taking the old one off and plugging the whole with the new one. Just put a towel down on the ground and you should be fine.
