How much better will my luanch be will a 3.42 posi?

right now i spin so much off the line that i lost to my buddies vette which i smoked from a roll. he stayed at his back fender but for some reason the lo3 decided to smoke the one tire all the way through first and when it hit 4500rpm it stumbles alittle and goes down until it stops spinning. my question is with a 3.42 posi rear end and BFGoodrich TA drag radials will i be able to launch better?

What are you running right now, a 3.73? If it is only a 2.73 and you are smoking them that bad, then your problem is obviously traction and not gear ratio. A posi will help but 3.42s might just exacerbate the problem. A lot of fast cars, 13s and 12s, run on 2.xx gears, believe it or not

2.73 is what im running now. i also have ****ty firestone tires...they are still in decent shape but i dont think they were meant for performance ill tell you that. it usually doesnt spin that much unless im gonna race somehow (i swear the car gains 100hp when im beside somebody )

i could spin the 2.73 open so easy with no other mods and 3.73 posi i could barely peel out if i wasnt powerbraking
