'84 Z28 350?

Ok I'm looking at an '84 Z28 with a 350, but the engine's carbed, so, I was wondering why I can't find anything about a carbed 350, like, not even what air filter from K&N to get for it. Any ideas?
(Yes, I'm new to American engines)

Because that engine didn't come in the Z28 from the factory, they had 305's.

Ok so where can I get info and specs on a carbed 350? Like I said I'm new to American engines and so carburators are totally new to me. Why is it all the 350's I see are TPI/FI? Was mine converted to carb?

For starters I would get the # of the side of the block to verify it's really a 350 and not a 305. They look identical.
350s saw production in 3rd Gens in '87, and only TPI was used. Any aif filter that fits a 305 will fit a 350. Do you have a snorkel type of air filter, or is it an open element?

It's snorkel, my friend and I were going to convert it to open element (via dremel and a hammer), any tips for that? What number on the side of the block should I look for? And where exactly is it?

No, the first TPI's were in 1985 and the 350 was only in the Vette until late 86 where a very few were put in IROC's.

Most of the 305 parts will fit the 350, like the air cleaner. But for something like the plugs, you'll have to pull a plug and see what is installed now.

Since it is a transplanted engine, you don't even know if the computer and feedback carb were retained, most likely not.

This engine will be a learning experiance for sure.

Like I said, the 350 TPI was first introduced into a production 3rd Gen in '87.

The very few in '86 were not available to the public. (50 in all)

NO NO NO NO NO NO...let not go down that road again.....there were NO 350s made from the factory in F-bodies for 1982 to 1986. NONE.....there is no evidence that they EVER exsisted. If this comes up again ppl will be always like...LOOK WHAT I FOUND GUYS a 1986 TPI 350 from the factory......its all BS as far as alot of the older members of this board are concerened...i may not be nearly as old but they bring up valid points and they know what they are talkning about. So lets drop this right now.

Well, it's even on this main page in the Tech Data as 50 of them. Raptoryfm660r over on the History board has video of it. Though I remember someone saying they were not EPA something or another.
