Headers

What is the best kind of headers for an 82Z28? How loud will my car be if I take everything off and just slap a new set of headers on it?

How long does it take to install a new set of headers? Do you have to take the engine out?

Colby...
It would help alot if you gave a bit more information
regarding your rig...

Header installation varies a great deal based on
what you are trying to do...

Custom dual exhaust in a big block...
Weeks of free time if your doing the fabrication yourself...

Carbed 350 no emmisions, no air...
you could do it tonight...

SLP would be the best, but are pricey.

Took my brother and I 6hrs in the driveway to install my TES headers.

They'll definately make the car louder and add some HP.

This is a stupid question. But someone suggested I put Flowtech Purple Hornie header mufflers on my 82 Z for the car show cruise tommorow. How loud are they, how long do they take to install, and do you just have to bolt on to the headers?

I believe they're similar to glasspacks. Which will be loud, some people think they sound to truckish. I think it really depends on the car's setup. There's a sound clip of glasspacks on the sound section of this site. Sounds good.
