Its doing it again......

My car did the little I dont want to start again. It had been fine for 2 months.....Most of you remember about the whole thing. I know Mark remembers. But anyways, Today I turned the key and nothing. I new right away it was the same damn thing but it only did it that one time.... Didnt do it like it did last time. So Im wondering what the hell it is. And of course it started with a jump start. Last time I put a new starter on thinking it was heat soak and moved the clutch safety switch over the the left a little and it was cured. I dont think its the starter again. Im thinking Ignition Coil or something. What do you guys think?

Turn the key and nothing happens? Then look for issues that supply power to the starter...forget about the coil, that's "after the fact".

Look at VAT's (if you have it), enable realy, etc...gotta make sure you have power to the starter as well as the solenoid when the key goes to "Start".

Look at safety switch as well (as you mentioned before).

I understand all this but I still cant figure out why it only happens when its hot.

Ok I finally got my car back today. But since it was a WHOPPING 104 degrees here in Washington my car lasted about 5 minutes in the heat and then I couldnt get her to start back up. So If anyone could add to this post with there Ideas it would be great. Again the symptoms are when its hot and there is no turnover at all. Not a click or anything.....but I can jump start it. I checked my grounds and as far as I can tell im good to go. ??????????

have you checked the switch on the steering column? not sure what its called but the switch holds the high beam control and when you turn the key the plunger pulls forward engaging the switch to feed power to the selenoid. i had similar problems and the switch ended up burning out from so much resistance. it is bolted to the column with 2 tiny bolts. over the years it will move slightly from the pressure of the plunger as you turn the key to start the car. it's a bitch to get to and you need to drop the column down (only 2 bolts) but you may want to check it out. when you drop the column down don't forget to pull the brake light switch out. the cloumn will snap it off when you drop it cuz it's in the way. don't ask me how i know this. make sure all the connections at the starter are good, clean, and tight. i wouldn't rule out selenoid even though it's a new starter. those rebuilt units tend to be unreliable. i went through 3 alternators in a week before i dropped some cash and bought a powermaster.
