i gotta question....this guy wants to trade me his 89 trans am and 4,000 bucks for my gta.....its around 100,000 miles red t tops 305 auto...with the other 4,000 bucks will be going into for some "umph"...another question....what system is better MAF of SPEED DENSITY..and how much would it take to convert to speed density.....and ill end up putting a t-56 or a tremec in it...
so what do ya guys think?....i havent gone to see the car yet...my buddy came to me cuz he knows the guy...i havent told him no but i havent said yes either

You should keep your car and spend the 4 grand on engine mods or a new engine all together.

 

Have a look on the PROM board to find out which system is better.

 

How bad a$$ed is you car? Another good question is how much of a pig is the other car. I'd jump on that in a second. Of course my car and I aren't speaking to each other right now.

 

you can make more power with S.D. but a MAF car doesn't require as much tunning when you DO make an engine mod such as a new cam.. while a S.D. car will require a new PROM to be made due to have less vacum S.D. cars use a MAP sensor, it will screw things up.. But i'b heard that MAF cars can only support about 350-400 HP and then the MAF maxes out.. But i also remember a company making a high flow MAF for a corvette, which you might be able to use on a f-body..

well i saw the car today and i wouldnt give him 1,500 for it...it was junk...
mine is a 91 t-tops 305 5-speed 77k miles...all stock except for a k&n and a couple free mods....it was weird becasue he sold it yesterday to a guy that has 4 gta's (checked the codes) 2 trans am and an iroc....and the guy was tellin me that he was sellin his 89 gta......
he wants 4,000 for it....its black on black leather t-tops 350 the chassis has 126,000 and the motor has 17,000......he started it up and i couldnt tell it was runing.....it runs smoother then mine and he said it needs a tune up....i believe that 88 you could only get t-tops and a 350 so im gonna check the vin tomorrow...maybe it is a 89 but was sent to asc? to the tops installed and if so how would i tell?
ill let you guys know what happens tomorrow

 

also whats mine worth???...i know its more then his but i wanna have an amount in my head when i ask the guy for a trade and some $$$...maybe $2,000?..
about that street motor...i got a couplke hundred bucks to make up the difference .
