That's possible, but the ECM watches the MAF pretty closely. Any errors from no signal or signal out of range for more than 600mS will lock a DTC.

It's possible that the ducting is directing the air toward the cetered sensing tube and skewing the readings artificially high. This situation would be compounded with a MAF that had no intake side screen (which is one of the main reasons a screen is put there in the first place).

I wouldn't expect the same kind or degree of problem with a MAF screen removed from the outlet side, but they both perform a similar function.

Air filter condition should really be irrelevant in this situation, unless it is so clogged that the air is heavily restricted.

The switch itself shouldn't be a problem, but the regulator might be an issue. A quick fuel pressure test would answer some questions.

Ok so i've found a blue wire that runs the length of the car along the drivers sider rocker and originates from the trunk my hayes says it can be the fuel pressure sender or pressre switch.. the thing is the wire runs into the fuse box "area" and is then severed.... i most likely did this with my feet... Where is it supposed to connect to?
